I became a yoga teacher because I think the practice of yoga asana, meditation and pranayama are so important. They provide us with tools that – when integrated into daily life – help us to live in harmony with ourselves and those around us. They teach us to be aware of our breath, our physical body and the energy that radiates through it. And how to practice for ourselves alone (rather than in competition with others), with dedication and while remaining absolutely present – all of which have enriched my life.
What I value most about yoga is how accessible and practical it is. The Yoga Synergy style equips the dedicated student with a gift they can give to themselves anytime, anywhere. Throughout your lifetime, you can take that practice and keep adjusting and refining it to suit your changing needs. Yoga not only improves your physical wellbeing, it enables you to harness emotional vitality, intellectual wisdom, mental clarity and spiritual bliss.
I enjoy being part of the Yoga Synergy team because Bianca and Simon have such an incredible depth of knowledge and dedication to the practice. I met them soon after I began teaching and fell in love with the Yoga Synergy style of yoga. In particular, the way you’re encouraged to acknowledge your changing physical and emotional needs so that your practice has the power to support and uplift you every time you practice. The Yoga Synergy style brings together everything I have learned and love about yoga.
Amelia was first introduced to yoga while studying fine arts at the National Art School in Sydney. Inspired by the joy and serenity it brought her, Amelia began to practice regularly before going on to complete her teacher training with Samadhi Yoga. She went on to complete her Yoga Synergy Teacher Training and the Yoga Synergy Anatomy & Physiology Course. As well, Amelia has attended workshops by Clive Sheridan, Donna Farhi, Richard Allen, Kamala Devi, Sharon Gannon and David Life. Amelia is a practising artist and continues to exhibit her work regularly.
