I was drawn to yoga because of the way it utilizes movement, breath and mental focus to maintain health and harmony. It’s a concept I first became aware of while practicing martial arts. (Piotr started Taekwondo when he was nine, and went on to train competitively, attain his black belt and win tournaments at an international level). After studying media and law, and practicing the latter, I needed to find some work/life balance. I did this by immersing myself in yoga which – in my experience – is the best way to sustain your mind and body.
What I value most about yoga is the equilibrium it provides. I enjoy the challenge of learning a complex and physically demanding posture. But equally, I understand the importance of practicing mindfully and working appropriately within your body’s limits. As a teacher, I thrive on the dynamic group energy of the classes I take. As someone who practices daily, I value the freedom of being able to do yoga whenever and wherever I like.
I chose to join the Yoga Synergy team because I was inspired by how Bianca, Simon and all the other teachers make yoga accessible to everyone who walks through the door!
Piotr began practicing yoga at Yoga Synergy and went on to complete his Yoga Synergy Teacher Training and Yoga Synergy Anatomy & Physiology Course. He has also taken part in several workshops with Clive Sheridan, and studied yoga history and philosophy with Phil Lemke.
