Class Levels
Yoga Synergy has a range of different classes to suit all levels from beginners to advanced students. If you’ve never attended Yoga Synergy classes before we recommend you start with a 1 Hour class or Level 1 (1.5 h) class. See Bondi timetable or Newtown timetable for class times.
1 Hour
Everyone from complete beginner to advanced practitioner is welcome. This is a great way to start your yoga practice! No previous experience of yoga is required. These classes introduce you to the practice of Hatha Yoga in the Yoga Synergy style. Each posture has a simple version and a more complex version enabling you to vary the level of intensity of your practice. Emphasis is on relaxation, correct breathing and flow, while aligning the body for health and fitness. Regular yoga practice will increase your strength, flexibility, and confidence and zap stress! A perfect class for those with less time!
Suitable for: Anyone and everyone – no experience required
Duration: 1 hour, arrive 10-15 minutes prior to start time
Level 1

Level 2
Level 2 is the next step up from Level 1 classes. Learn pose by pose with a group of committed yogi’s and progress towards an uplifting flowing practice to music in the final class. Learn a more challenging series of postures and advance your practice in an energizing group environment. We recommend you come to at least one other class in the week so that you get the maximum benefit from this level.
Morning classes: The birds are singing, the sun is rising ... what better way to start the day than with an early morning yoga practice! These are a great classes to begin to develop a regular and committed yoga practice.
Suitable for: Students with some experience of Yoga Synergy classes
Duration: 1.5 hours, arrive 10-15 minutes prior to start time
Level 3
Continue to develop your regular yoga practice. Level 3 classes introduce more advanced postures and pranayama with greater focus on bandha and breath. We recommend you come to at least two other classes in the week so that you get the maximum benefit from this level.
Morning classes: Get your body moving in the morning and feel good for the rest of the day! An informative, exciting and energising class for regular yoga practitioners.
Suitable for: Students with some experience of Yoga Synergy classes
Duration: 1 hour 45 mins, arrive 10-15 minutes prior to start time
Level 3+
Explore advanced asanas, bandhas and prananyama with Yoga Synergy's Simon Borg-Olivier. Students must understand how to work appropriately and intelligently at their own pace with awareness of body and mind. This is the highest class level offered at Yoga Synergy and is for Experienced practitioners familiar with Yoga Synergy style. It is expected that you attend the class every week to understand the progression towards the flow through practice.

Duration: 2 hours, arrive 10-15 minutes prior to start time
Flow
Join a fun and dynamic flow through practice to music. These classes follow the Level 2 practice of that week. Only for students with Yoga Synergy experience, no beginners please – there are no instructions in this class. We recommend that you come to a Level 2 class during the week before attending the music flow class.
Suitable for: Experienced practitioners familiar with Yoga Synergy style
Duration: 1.5 hours, arrive 10-15 minutes prior to start time
Meditation
Meditation is for everyone, you don’t need to begin with a still mind to start the practice and experience the benefits of reduced stress, a greater sense of calm, and develop the qualities of patience, surrender, equanimity, compassion, clarity, non-judgement, stillness, trust and acceptance. Classes are non-religious and non-sectarian and will explore a variety of styles to allow you to cultivate a practice best suited to your needs. Beginners and experienced practitioners welcome.

Pregnancy
Pregnancy classes are specially designed to help mothers towards a healthy and less stressful birth process. Yoga practice during pregnancy creates a sense of well-being and helps prepare a mother's body for the birth of her child. If the times or level of these prenatal classes do not suit you, please see timetables for 1 Hour class or Level 1 times at the school nearest you. All Yoga Synergy teachers are trained to safely teach pregnant women in these classes. If you are starting yoga for the first time and you are 30 weeks or more, then it is best to start with pregnancy classes.

Kids
Fusing the art of play with traditional yoga these classes offer a fun yoga sequence for kids between the ages of 5-10 years old. In each class, children will:
- explore their imagination, participating in a fantasy world revolving around the animal and plant kingdoms
- develop their physical strength, fitness, flexibility, coordination and endurance while cultivating balance, concentration and stillness
- learn safe and effective body movements, postures and breathing exercises that prepare them for adult yoga in the future
These classes create a confident foundation for yoga and meditation that can take children into their growing years.
