Welcome to Asana Biomechanics - 84 Postures!
This online course was made from an unscripted, live course I ran few years ago in Byron Bay, which, due to its popularity and demand for more, we are sharing as an online course for you to have the information at your own convenience.
In this course, I show how to safely and effectively practice 84 commonly practiced postures and their simple-to-complex variations. The aim of the practice is to develop strength, flexibility and fitness, in a way that helps to enhance health, well-being and longevity.
Please start by watching the lecture below as well as reading the following on how to make the most of this course.
- In the navigation you will find the main categories of postures covered. Focus on one category at a time, watch the videos and check them off after you have watched them.
- On the My Progress page you will be able to monitor your progress through the course.
- Certificate of Completion - When you have been through the whole course we offer you a certificate of completion. There is no exam for this course but you can gain CEP points. See below.
- On some of the pages with multiple videos, we have presented the video lectures as both a slideshow for continuous playing and as individual videos for you to choose how you would like to view them.
- You will have 16 weeks access to the course.
- You’ll hear in these videos the instruction ‘pull your abdomen/tummy /naval in’ quite often. What I meant by that is even if you pull the naval to the spine, you should still be able to breathe into the abdomen and mobilize your spine.
As with all teachers who continue to stay curious and never stop trying to improve, my teaching has evolved since this course was recorded. Below is some clarification on how certain instructions should be interpreted in the light of the latest developments in my methods.
Completion Certificate
If you wish to download your certificate please ensure you tick all boxes on each page. When you have done this you will be able to download your certificate on the My Progress page.
Enjoy the course! - I hope you benefit from this information.
Thanks to brilliant teachers Lance and Susan Schuler, who kindly hosted me to teach and film this program at their wonderful INSPYA studio. Special thanks to Claire Priestly, who is also an amazing teacher in her own right, for her excellent assistance, her really clear demonstrations of posture, movement and breathing in this video program, and for allowing me to adjust her in postures. Also much appreciation and acknowledgment to Martin Selecki for his brilliant filming and video editing.
Thanks and Acknowledgements from Simon Borg-Olivier
